Of course, I'll be happy to attempt an explanation.
OK, if you look CLOSELY at the area around the 4 holes that will eventually have the control pots/knobs located, you will notice that the top "dimples" around them, instead of the prior arrangement that was the same radius/contour of the rest of the top.
We would (and still do on many) "recess" the area BEHIND these holes before, so that the thickness of the top in that area would be correct for installing the pot. Now we are addressing the thickness issue from the front, and making a nice clean dimple in the top, similar to many other builders, such as Paul Reed Smith.
Once it's done, we believe this will give a very classy appearance to the top, and will also have all of the controls in the same plane geometrically.

Meaning do the knobs kind of point down away from the bass? Or do they point straight away from the bass? |
