Swamp Ash body
Tobacco Sunburst finish
Bartolini 3-band preamp
Bartolini CB pickups
Bird's Eye Maple fingerboard
No 12th fret inlay
Graphite nut
Black hardware
Body finished shaping, first color (sunburst starts with yellow stain, then the red & black are sprayed on later in the process) and sealer coat applied; fingerboard glued on neck, awaiting cut to shape.
Front only (and remember, this is the beginning of the color process!):

If I recall, I was inspired to order this bass by a Sad**sky similar to this one:
I just think a sunburst over Spalted Maple is tooooo cool, especially when the wood itself already has that sort of bursted coloration naturally. |

When my new baby girl gets a little older I'm gonna drive over from Greenville and see you guys. BTW, we had sent messages back and forth about the GTG and I told you I couldn't come because of the birth to come....well...she's beautiful! 7lbs.6.3oz....ten fingers....ten toes...my eyes and her mother's beauty.
OK...now back to the pretty bass potential......

The exaggerated exposure of the Wenge with the (Maple??) really make the lines of the body shape stand out. I can just imagine what an Ash, or Alder body and a three laminate (Wenge, Maple, and Bubinga) top would look and sound like... Say like a lined fretless 6x2 SKB or a Century.
