Who fires a coach that has won TWO SB's? | Jerry's ego is HUGE but for the most part he's been able to back it up. Name me something Al Davis has done to the league that puts him anywhere near J. Jones? If anything Davis is a pussycat compared to J. Jones .
One could go so far as to say the Salary Cap was instituted in the NFL to quash J. Jones. At one time he'd bring in the talent with no reguard for $. After all he PAID J. Johnson and the team that turned worst to first in Four Years(IIRC the fastest turnaround in league history at the time). If it weren't for the salary cap Dallas would still be the highest paid team in the NFL.
You're right firing J. Johnson was foolish IMO and he's paid for it since. But because of the salary cap they wouldn't have been able to maintain the same level of winning anyway.
J. Jones may be BSC but aren't most highly sucessful businessmen? Look at Howard Hughes. Elvis Presley. Michael Jackson. They all have bats in the belfry Quote:

Their QB wanted to win, as they were still in the hunt for a (very unlikely) playoff berth in the last game last year. Records mean squat, a chance to play another day means everything to a WINNER - and that is the only thing you can call Drew Brees, his whole focus is to win, not date a hot pseudo-whatever the heck Jessica Simpson is/was/will be. The team did want him to have the record, Brees didn't care one bit if he got it, just wanted to put another W in the W-L column.
