6192 & 6193

Ok, here are a couple of cool ones - matching specs for a Century Signature V and an SKB Signature V, in other words, the only difference between the two basses is the body shape!

So, here are the specs, just change from Century to SKB for the start and continue forward:

Exhibition Koa top
Spanish Cedar body
Natural finish
Bartolini 3-band preamp
Bartolini/Roscoe pickups
Wenge wedge neck
Wenge Sapwood fingerboard
Koa 12th fret inlay
Diamondwood nut
Black hardware

Here are a couple shots of the SKB, serial number 6192:

....oh yeah...

6192 is going to be a stock piece for a lucky dealer; 6193 is first heading to California for a Bass Player review, then from there to the dealer getting 6192!

Does it have the same tonal qualities as regular wenge?

Excellent choice for a magazine review.

Nice Gard, about time Bass Player has had a Roscoe in their mitts. I am sure it will be a great representative.

Is Wenge Sapwood and White Wenge the same thing then?

That Century looks amazing!

The latest news is Gard's not sure WHICH of these is going to get reviewed by BP. He says it's a tossup, they're both so killer...

We actually spec'd these the same with the intention of having one go to BP to get reviewed and one come to my store. Whichever one turned out better would get reviewed... their opinion on which is which is shifting daily And if I'm not mistaken, Gard is pulling for the SKB and Keith is pulling for the Century. Gee, I wonder who wins that argument?!?

Both names appear on Gard's paycheck... one is the payee, and one is the payer. But, yeah, I'm guessing the payer wins everytime

Yea, I shoulda said "All the checks".

Either one would be great for the review, but which are you pulling for?

If I had to pick one, I'd say the Century, but that's only 'cause I can then say "Yep, I've got the same kind of Roscoe BP reviewed"

All the non bassist folk I know wouldn't know the difference.

Selfish huh?

God Bless, Ray
