Advanced to Newbie-dom #4575

My new (to me) Roscoe just arrived, and she's a beauty!

Do D'Addario XL nickel wound strings have wrappings that are a light creamy gold in color? The seller didn't remember what strings he put on those. FWIW, the guages are 125 / 105 / 80 / 65 / 50 / 30.

Thanks!

My new-to-me 30 aught six

And here she is. Krikey, ain't she a beauty? At the risk of stating the obvious, it sounds as beautiful as it looks.

Specs:
Swamp ash body w/ "Roscoe Red" quilted maple top
Spalted purpleheart fretboard on M-Ph-M neck
Bartolini PUPs w/ 3 band EQ
SN 4575 (ca 2001-2002)

I include a shot of the headstock in the hopes that someone will be able to identify the strings from the color of the wrappings (D'Addarios?).

Thanks and greetings everyone!

Nice bass =). I don't think they're D'Addarios but then I could be wrong. [Other D'Addario sets might have the wrappings but] the set I have on my bass right now don't have string wrappings.

Nice bass, congrats.

Those strings ARE Dean Markley SR2000, sure for sure! Goldish silk wrap and taper wound at the bridge.

Same strings I have on mine right now (I actually keep switching between Prosteels and SR2000).

Thanks!

Thank you all for your kind remarks about my basses. One can never have too many.

Maurilio,
I think you're right. The B-D strings are indeed taper wound on the bridge end. They sound really nice. So I think I'll stick with them.
