lol

Cons: Concentric knobs can be a bit tricky to tweak!

Has Rod Taylor been living under a rock? Like concentric knobs are something new that no one else uses!

Oh well the Pros are right on:

Superb workmanship, tonal variety and erogonomics!

In fairness, the concentric knob that Roscoe use are a little more awkward than regular ones, though far tidier looking.

Yeah, after reading the article it appears that his gripe is that both knobs are the same diameter.
If never had any issues but maybe I don't tweak my tone as much while playing.

Wow...this sounds very nice...I can´t wait to receive my BP Magazine...will be two more weeks to get the mine in South America... Per years I´m using the concentric knobs in my Roscoe basses and are the most easy and intuitive to use...Many other basses made me more focoused on the multiple knobs layout than my playing... I need to check the full review....

I actually agree on that point - I replaced the knobs on my Century with HipShot O-Ring knobs including a stacked one - Best mini-upgrade I've done. Awesome.

Great review of the Century. Number 1 bass in the world IMHO. It'll not be long before the rest of the bass world agrees

Guess I'll have to hit the shop's PO Box today - I hope our issue is there!!!

I've already read the review, of course, but SEEING it in print, I'm pretty stoked to do that!

FWIW, Rod is a GREAT guy, had several very good discussions with him on the phone and via e-mail, and I was thrilled that he liked the basses so much.

I actually agree on the knob issue, and have been considering a change there myself for the last few weeks. If we can get the numbers right, we may make that change soon.

The Hip Shot O-rings are great - But quite expensive in my experience. Maybe a tad cheaper to obtain in the States? Not got many close up shots of them in use, but the concentric pot they do in the range is perfect...

I do kind of agree on the knob issue, and have actually thought about replacing mine, from time to time. But, apparently it hasn't been a big enough issue for me to actually go ahead and do it.

Just got our issue today.

Very pleased with it, overall - but would like to have had a few better photos (Jon? ), particularly showing off the wenge wedge neck, which was totally ignored...sigh...however, the writeup was great!

I am a subscriber but don't recall seeing it. Is it August 2011? I don't think i've received that yet.

The magazine has become so thin, I may have discarded it as a post card in the recycle bin!

I like to tweak a little and have no problems with my knobs.

Seriously though... the knobs are not a problem at all for me. My two Roscoes are staying the same.

Well, in their defense, they HAVE to find something to complain about, or it would look fishy!

I read the review, congrats to the Roscoe family, long over due!

On the knobs issue, there's dozens of different knobs on the market, it's a matter of personal choice….
(I like alu or plastic/rubber knobs for a weight issue. Brass is heavy)

On this subject, Gard, are you guys getting the bottom plastic concentric knob from Bartolini or from somewhere else?

Thanks

Great review that points out the distinct personalities of all 3 product lines.
