Not my bag, but the man's got a powerful muse and it is, after all, his bass. I'll stick to my practice of never doing any of the following three things: - Mess with a man's woman
- Drink a man's last beer or smoke the last of his weed
- Pass judgement on his dreams

I'd like to hear it in the context of some music...
Seriously though, I love to see when folks take the instrument somewhere totally different - The only problem for me is, for whatever reason, it seems to always only hold my attention for a fleeting moment.

| | | | Whoo-Wee! You guys are a tough audience!
I'm an old Rock 'n Roller, and I play what I want to hear.
But for listening pleasure, I like something different.
The main reasons I thought this vid was appropriate are:
The Roscoe is the featured instrument.
The player is great.
The vid is unusually good for YouTube.
It's also great to see a bassist lead a band.
Anthony Crawford is doing the kind of thing
that attracts the attention of bassists.
And may inspire some to think,
"oh, man, I've gotta get a Roscoe."
Who knows, maybe he'll do for Roscoe,
what Victor Wooten did for Fodera...
Wait a minute...
that means it'll cost 4 times as much for a Roscoe!
Oh, no, what have I done!?
Peace,

| | | | Yeah, beautiful.
I hope they keep putting this kind of stuff out.
These vids raise the bar on the usual YouTube music.

I was hoping for a bit more fire from the guitarist, but I dug what the rhythm section was doing behind him. Also would've been sweet to hear the Roscoe bare nekkid during the solo, but Crawford is a monster. Nonetheless, the star of the video, Bruner Jr., really does it for me. Chops for days, but he uses them very musically, and his pocket is as big as a house. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
