April must be Sell a Roscoe Month

Wow, I have never seen this many Roscoe basses for sale. Makes me wish I had more money.

I keep hoping an SKB3006 with Nord and an Audere pops up but I'd have to live without a kidney, or some organ, for a while.

People have to make ends meet...it's not just Roscoes that are for sale with larger volumes.

With gas pretty much at $4 a gallon here, I've noticed just on the local CL that there's a ton of gear to be had for cheap if you have free cash.

Great time to buy if you have cash, but a total downer if you have to sell just to make the next month.

I understand that, I have been blessed. I haven't had to sell gear to make ends meet since college in the early 80s. Had to sell a '73 Ric with the checker board binding and a Yamaha B100 amp with 115 cab.

I'm very thankful for an insightful wife. I have offered to "downgrade" my gear to produce some fast cash and she has said "no". Just like a freelance photographer needs a great/high-end camera to stay competitive in the market, my wife sees that I play and sound better with high-end gear. The bandleaders I work with hire me in part because of the tone of my instruments. It's my calling card. Some specifically insist I bring my Roscoe fretless (and have gotten upset when I didn't bring it).

I feel the pain of my bass brethren that are having to sell gear to keep up with inflation... That would be sad indeed to sell a beloved bass to pay for a tank of gas.

You'll have to see my thread inspired by your posting. One good idea spawns another!
