Bass Face shots - let's see 'em

Alright, Roscoeheads....let's see the shots of you just digging in to your bass...

I took part in an amazing recording session on Saturday. The saxophonist, like me, is a DSLR freak, and we took turns capturing shots of everyone on the date. Here's the shot of me just loving the groove with the drummer on an R&B tune.

The engineer ran me through a GrooveTubes DITTO pre/DI, and the sound was absolutely amazing. I wish I could share the rough mixes, but since it isn't my project I have to keep things close to the vest. I can't wait for the CD release, though...

Enough of me - let's see alla' youse!

Man, I WISH I had this photo with my Roscoe in it (that's The Electric Woodshed @ The Blue 5 in Roanoke, VA)...

For now, this is the best I've got w/ the Roscoe... not enough gigs on it yet to have a decent selection of photos...

As for bass face... this one isn't much of a face, but there WAS a heck of a groove going on at this gig from more years ago than I care to remember... that's me on my (former) Alembic rockin' out on "Whippin' Post"... I STILL remember that night vividly!

I will have to see if I have some larger pictures, but I have to be careful that my mug doesn't break any cameras or monitors. They didn't have any chicken wire so they put us behind the home plate backstop.

You'd think on a dip that deep, it would've been a one time thing... but he must've dipped her a dozen times just like that. They were feelin' no pain that night, but I'm guessing the next morning was a different story...

Greg, until we get that close-up of your gorgeous Roscoe...hopefully with a serious bassface to go with it...I hereby nominate you for World's Most Awesome Goatee. Me and my weaksauce peach fuzz are all kinda' jealous.

Dude, you may lack face hair, but you sure can groove!

Maybe there is a connection between having a goatee and having impeccable taste in basses.

Ha ha! Tell ya what - I'll trade my goat for your solo chops. I shave, you glue... then we just need to figure how to make the chops exchange...

Nice photos, guys!

Jerry, you look like you're totally blissed-out. Very cool when you can get into that zone. I'm envious! I need to recover more of my chops and get into a playing situation where it'll happen.

Sorry, no recent bass-related action photos to offer up. And I know you don't want me digging into the '80's photo vault. Think long permed hair, skin-tight pants, ridiculous facial expressions, bloodshot eyes...you get the picture, so to speak. I couldn't bear to look at them myself, and I'm darned sure not going to make you guys look at 'em.

Keep 'em coming!

Lookin' good there, Staff Sergeant!

And I'm all for permed hair and tight pants...no excuses, let's see the bassface!
