BassmanBob's favorite bass!

Here's a clip of bassman bob's favorite bass which I was nuts to get rid of. This is a remix of an earlier clip with more booty and louder guitar solo.

It's a Roscoe SKB-3006 with box elder top, ash body, purpleheart fingerboard, bart pickups and demeter eq.

I throw in a bit of envelope filter and octave divider as well.

I'm playing all the bass and guitar parts and the drums are courtesy of ezdrummer.

Well, I did a gig tonight with my other maple neck SKB-3006 and it sounded incredible. On this gig, I had to play swing, funk, latin, slap, as well as soloing on every tune. The maple neck bass sounded fabulous for everything. It probably sounds better than bassmanbob's bass for soloing. The maple neck just gives it that ultra sweet velvet, particularly in the upper register.

For grooves, bob's old bass would have been better but I'm not sure if I could have done 4 hours standing with bob's bass...

You mean maple "Neck" or Maple Fingerboard? Is it Birdseye or standard Rock Maple?

Standard Roscoe Neck (maple/ph/maple) and then standard rock maple fingerboard.

Are we having a fight I don't know about? If we are, I'm ready to end it. Life's too short for internet arguements.

I should have probably kept that bass, but it's just one of those things. For me, the playability was top-notch, and the weight didn't bother me at all--in fact, I think it might have been lighter than my other Roscoe, but just barely.

I would still have it, but like I stated before, I just couldn't justify having two 6ers that were basically identical sitting around. And, the fact that I am still in the planning phases of a 5 string SKB or Century also aided my decision to let it go (originally was going to get a 4 string, but IMHO, a Roscoe without that low B is just plain wrong )--but that is a whole 'nother thread...........
