Battery Life?

I bought a used Roscoe over on the classified boards about a month ago. I absolutely love it. The specs are:

Serial # 5428
Flame Maple Top
Spanish Cedar Body
Maple/Purpleheart Neck
Cocobolo Board
Diamondwood Nut
Bartolini Soapbars
18v Bartolini Pre-amp

I put in 2 new Duracells a few days after I received it as the previous batteries were dead. About a month later, my batteries were already dying and I was forced to replace them. I'm just wondering if this is the typical battery life I can expect? I was a Yamaha 6 string player before and a battery in that bass would last me 4 or 5 months of frequent playing. I'm just concerned that 2 batteries would be drained over the course of a month of somewhat infrequent playing. Is this typical for the Bartolini preamp, or is it something I should have looked at?

Definitely not typical, definitely can be dealt with.

See here for a potential solution:

Hello folks and fellow Roscoe users.

If that doesn't help, please PM, e-mail (info@roscoeguitars.com) or call (336-274-8810) me, and I'll be happy to help you trouble shoot the issue.

FYI, I'm still running on the same set of DuraCells in my fretless that were installed at the time of completion, in January of 2006.
