I'm looking at the 5 stringer's. Ready, aim..
Do the neck profiles differ on the 3 models?
Can you describe the Roscoe neck profile in terms of shape and thickness? Are there measurements for width and thickness?
Are all 3 styles similar in as much as the reach to the first fret? In other words, is there an ergonomic difference due to how far back the bridge is set between models?
Thanks,

In general the neck 'profiles' do not change specifically, however each is hand finished so all differ slightly. Roscoe necks in general are quite slim. Many folks use descriptions like 'C' or 'D' to describe necks, but I would describe Roscoes in general as an open bracket, '('. As they are hand made, if you are having one built, they always aim to get is how you like it.
As for reach... The only thing that really changes is the length of the top horn. The LG is a little shorter, meaning on the strap it sits further back, making the nut feel 'slightly' further away compared to a bass of the same scale length. The 'reach' of the SKB and Century feel the same (or near as dammit) to me.

I think this depends somewhat on how you wear the bass as well, those wearing it higher finding a greater difference between the three (due to horn lengths) and those wearing it lower finding less (due to the end of the body and bridge position remaining roughly the same). |

In the 'action shots' thread I couldn't help noticing most seemed to wear their bass quite high compared to where I wear it. So as I understand it this would be working in my favor in bringing the end of the neck closer to me.
I had convinced myself that any 35" scale will be that much longer reach. |

The observations about how the body shape affects ergonomics are spot on as well - including Jeff's observation about how/where you wear it on a strap.
