Century Standard question

First off, new to Roscoe. This is probably already covered, but I couldn't find it with the search terms that I was using....

I was watching the video podcast on TPB.com and they said something to the effect of "it's perfect for someone that doesn't want to pay $3-4k for a full American-made bass." The implication seemed to be that the Century Standard wasn't made in the US, but other places seem to indicate that the Century Standard is made in the US.

Can you set me straight??

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Roscoe bass forum.

All Roscoe guitars are 100% American made (I think North Carolina is part of America but Gard would know more on this).

If you get a chance to play one, you'll probably love it.

Made in the USA.

The statement was meant to imply that you don't have to pay $3-4K for a USA made custom instrument. You can purchase a USA made custom instrument for only:

Century Standard 4: $1979
Century Standard 5: $2199
Century Standard 6: $2425

The Century Standards have a fixed price (which means that the price ain't tore up no more!). Actually it just means that price is non-negotiable. It is what it is!

As CMD and Joe have pointed out the Century Standards are made right here in Greensboro, NC (which was indeed considered a part of the United States of America, the last time I checked... ), by the same guys that build the LG, SKB, and Century Signature basses we are known best for.

Production is a bit limited right now, but there are a few out there (if you're looking, PM me and I will be happy to direct you to one that best fits what you're looking for), and we should have production up and running at full tilt boogie in the next 2 months or so.

Thanks for the clarification. I like the shape of the Century the best and almost prefer the simpler look of the Standard. Well, almost. The Century that's in the current banner ad at the top is H - A - W - T, hot!!
