Century Standard - what exactly are the (diminished) options?

Yeah, I'm still waiting to have my Roscoe delivered and I'm inquiring about other Roscoes.

But, with my broken finger and because of that limited bass playing possibilities and time... I'm GASsing to much for other basses.

Well that out of the way...

I searched for this and couldn't quite find a comprehensive explanation... other than what I figured out from the Roscoe site.

What options can you choose?

color: Natural, Tobacco Sunburst, Red or Onyx with White Grain Enhancement
fingerboard: Maple, Rosewood, Lined Fretless Diamondwood

If I understand correctly, all other specs are fixed.
Like bodywood, neck, pickup, electronics, hardware, nut.

I that about right?

Is that a body without a top wood? Solidbody swamp ash.

And must it be lined fretless? Unlined not a possibility?

Thanks.

It's pretty much that, hardware, electronics, body woods, neck woods are set. You can choose from the three fingerboards, diamondwood is available only as fretless, but lined or unlined is fine. We did add one color that hasn't made it onto the site yet: Orange.

I thought there was a pretty good thread about these from a while back...I'll have to search to see if I can find it!

Sorry, I couldn't find it or overlooked it maybe. I should have shot you a PM. Since eitherway to a thread or PM you answer fast.

(I searched in titles only the words century standard)

But thank you for the quick answer Gard.

So it's really only 2000$ for a 4-string?
That's a lot cheaper than my TF. That would be like the price of a MIA standard Fender over here (which is also a bass I am looking at).

Got some budget for an extra bass.

First see how I like my Century Signature...

But it's never too early to start obsessing about basses.

edit: okay, now I found a great post by Gard (made in december) where he explains this.

Well, now I can sleep tonight.

Thank you Joe.

Really a nice concept, a Century Standard.

I'm constantly in the market for a fretless 4-string.
I'm looking at different brands for a backup bass in the future. Not much is on my short list.
I don't like jazz basses so that limits my options.

After the honeymoon with my Century Signature I'll see how high a Century Standard will be on my list.

You're a man of multiple honeymoons.

I don't need a lecture from you when it comes to pacing bass purchases.

Now that you mention it, I was thinking of a trip to the guitar shop today...

That reminds me, my local store is trying to get me a Danelectro Longhorn.

That's a fretted bass I can't pass. They're so cool.

Nice, I'd be all over a Longhorn!

I'm just thinking of a fretted bass, that I can put my current fretless neck on, and make the explorer build fretted instead, I'm leery of how the Gibson pickups, and thick mahogany body will work on a fretless.

I'm also debating the electronics.

Careful Gard!

That could very well be the Dallas Cowboy model!

SHHHHHHH!!!! Don't tell him and he won't figure it out After all his favorite team is the Saints

BTW He can't make a Saints model using the stock options.

With the blue finish, silver hardware, I'm on my way. Black and Gold He'd have to deviate from "Standard" specs.

God Bless, Ray

I would heavily gas for that, depending on how gold the gold came out.

That does it.

I'm doing a "New Orleans Saints" model Century Standard.

Swamp Ash body
Black Stain w/Gold grain enhancement
Ebony fingerboard
Yellowheart 12th fret inlay
Black-Gold hardware

Deal with it.

THAT IS NOT A CENTURY STANDARD!!!!!!!

You cannot deviate from stock specs, without being willing to do so for us, THE CUSTOMERS. And that my friend will open a flood gate.

I'll give you the gold grain enhancement. But the yellowheart inlay and black/gold hardware are no-no's.

So Deal with that!

God Bless, Ray

^ General Manager.

I can call it whatever I want.

(...by the way, you forgot that Ebony isn't an available option either! )
