Guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one, Joe.

If you really want stable - carbon fiber. I know that's not an option here and don't want it to be one, just I love how my Modulus never moves and each note is as pure as the next.
Staying on the Roscoe topic, I love my newest SKB with the Wenge board. Stable and no dead spots at all. Ebony also seems strong, but more $$

I've had a few "carbon fiber" neck basses. They are really nice, but ultimately they didn't "hang" right and felt "long" when I played them.
I'll have to do some more thinking...

And since I won't start gigging with the new band for a bit, yet, there is an Eden 1205/610 rig, a Mesa Titan/Powerhouse 1200 rig, a Fender Bassman 150, and an Ampeg BA110, all sitting here.

I have to wait and see what the damage will be for Robin's ring. A custom cushion cut Ruby and matching diamond are in the works. Should know is couple weeks. The new bass may have to wait a few months so I can recover. We'll see how it goes.

After a number of gigs using my IEM's I am finding while my Geddy Lee jazz sounds good, it is also missing something. I'm guessing its the mids I'm missing. I think there's a natural scoop in a pair if passive jazz pups, right?
So I'm wondering if I go JM like Gard suggested or should I be liking at a more traditional soapbar set up? The thread about pickup placement got me wondering. |

In no way am I being negative towards the JM however. I absolutely love it, maybe more than the Nord DC's in my SKB. |

Of corse, I still find myself wanting a low B string once in a while...

I need to decide the pickup thing.

I love it, but it does require adding mids to cut through at times. I think that is the only thing keeping it from being my go-to for everything. My Century with Bart CB soapbars just can't be beat..........it kills. However, my JM is a pretty darn close second!

This ain''t your first rodeo Bro!
Which do YOU prefer? A more standard Roscoe sound or a Roscoe that leans toward the Lakland sound?
You'll be the one playing it. |
