Oh and how do you think the Barts + OBP-3 would sound? I guess I might be interested in a set of Barts if they'd give the bass a different flavor from the DC's
I'm not sure how the barts would sound with the aggie but I know that they sounded great with the demeter!

I'm really loving the DC5 + Aggie OBP3 combo in my bass. To me, the Nords sound brighter, more open than the Barts. The Barts seem a little more focused, but darker. Some have said the Nords lack the low end heft of the Barts, but with a little bass boost from the Aggie, it's all there. Cutting, agressive tone but can be smoothed easily. I've just got a coil tap switch that takes both pups to single coil, and of course the dual coil mode is fuller and darker, and the single coil mode is bright and snappy. A pleasant surprise for me has been only a slight volume drop between dual coil and single coil mode. I was expecting a bigger difference. Some have even said they rarely use the single coil mode due to the drop in volume.

hey fish, cool that you're lovin the DC5 + Aggie combo =). I JUST got my bass today too and I have the exact same combo with the series/single coil/parallel switch for each pickup.

I'm going to be trying out the bass a lot more tonight and in the upcoming week, but one thing I noticed was that [at least on my bass] the treble was really aggressive when I plucked any note on the G string. I have to cut a good amount of treble on the preamp for it to be bearable for my ears cuz I feel like it's a bit too piercing when my amp is sent flat and all the settings are flat on the pre-amp as well.

Other than that, so far I'm really liking what I've gotten =D
