OK, this is a PAIR of basses, exactly the same - except one has CB humbuckers, the other J's:

Century Standard 4
Spanish Cedar body
Natural Oil finish
Bartolini CB (D018) or J (D017) pickups
Bartolini 3-band preamp
3-piece Maple neck
Maple fingerboard w/black position markers on front of fingerboard
Graphite nut
Satin Chrome hardware

Bodies both just cut out, D018 w/neck pocket and pickup routs done:

Nice pair of latin twins.

Should be a very interesting pair for direct comparison.

Yep, that's the idea. One of these will most likely belong to Cameron McLaughlin as soon as they're done. He wasn't sure which pickups he would prefer, so I offered to order one of each and stock whichever one he passes on.

Should be cool to see what a monster player like Cameron can do with one of these Roscoe standards...

As you know Greg, Standard is a Figure of Speech, with Roscoe. See if you can't talk Cam into recording his comparisons, I'd sure like to know.

Cool! Solid Spanish cedar with no top. The one laying down has some figuring going on. Interested to see how they look in oil. They should have that classic vibe to 'em.

......And they have chrome hardware! Cool! That's my second favorite hardware!

Indeed, tis a shame they don't offer gold on the standards...

Oh, man, these are going to be sooo cool. I can't wait to see Cameron gigging with one of these around the area. Check out his calendar, the dude is SLAMMED:

» Calendar Cameron McLaughlin

That's Cameron's new website. There's lots of music and a fair amount of input from Cameron about his history and his approach to music. Pretty cool!

Thanks for the link, Greg! He is awesome and I'm really anxious to see which electronics setup he prefers.

Purty, you? I've seen photos.

Heavy? Nope, but not feathers either, good weight on both, without a scale, I'd guess in the 7.5-ish range when finished.

Hey, Gard - did you get any finished photos of these? Sounds like they're ready to ship any day now, so I'm chomping at the bit...
