Decision time...

Well, graduation was good to me, so Ive got some extra cash now. The question is, should I have a Roscoe built just how I want it or just stay with mine. I love the way my bass sounds, but Id love one in an SKB body. So what do you do, keep the money and bass, or put ~ a grand + selling bass and get one exactly how I want it?

Lets hear it boys.

Dave

Edit: Just to be clear, about 75% of me wanting to get a different one is because different body style, woods, wanting to try out Nordies and an Audere, etc. Im really very happy with this bass, but that moneys gotta go somewhere.

I vote to keep your Roscoe, but there are other ways to better your lot in life with the grad $$$....

New amp?

New cab?

Backup bass?

Well Im good with my amp now, the only thing I want to do to it is exchange the GK 1x12 for a Berg HT210. I also have a backup bass, one that I built for senior project, which will soon have an Audere preamp in it. Suprisingly, I like it alot. Its very different from the Roscoe.

Thanks for your input,
Dave

If you aren't totally happy with what you have now, you probably are never going to be totally happy with it.

So, is it worth hanging onto a bass that you really aren't that "in to"?? My vote is to sell your current one. Spend the time and get figured out EXACTLY what it is you want in your new bass, and order it. You should be much happier down the road.

All of this is IMHO, of course.

Hey Dave, if you do decide to go the "sell this one and get another to my specs" route, let me know if there's anything I can do to help out. Of course, you are completely welcome to hit the shop to pick out your top!

Sounds like an impulse decision 'cause you have a bit of spare cash in your hands. My advice is to hold on to the cash and the bass as you obviously really like the bass and you may need the money for something more important ,....

A Bass in the hand is worth 2 in the Blue sky!~
The tone is always sweeter on the otherside!~
Exactly what you want is relative only to the here and now, what you get WILL NOT last in your mind as your ideal!

Its not really impulse, because Ive been thinking about doing this for some time now, though I can see where you got that impression, because I havent really talked much about it on here. But having spare cash is definitely a good thing, which is why Im hesitant to spend it on a new bass.

Your amp is already nice, although i agree about switching the Gk out for another Berg. Id sell your bass and get one made for you.

Ryan - I have come to a decision. I decided to get a few things Ive been wanting (iPod, new car cd player) and pick up a Bergantino HT210 and just keep my bass I have now. I just cant justify the amount of money when I honestly think this bass sounds like 95% of what Im looking for. Now, this isnt to say I wont be lookin at maybe picking up a used one, since you can save a pretty penny there, or maybe a new one later on down the line, but we'll have to see.
