Don't forget your Roscoes...

Heh, went to a jam session, the guitarist wanted to record some cover songs, mostly blues/country, but espcially Folsom Prison Blues.

So, since I didn't need a 5er for that kinda stuff, I grabbed an already packed away 4 string with a P/J setup, should have done the trick.

I arrive, and set up the DAW etc, we record the guitar track first(I know, odd order, but for us it works), and next I pop out my bass...

The guitarist looks dissapapointed...
"Hey, where's your 5er man? I thought you'd bring that, we could use the low B......."

So yeah, don't forget your Roscoes, your guitarists will love you for it.

I should also point out, before my Roscoes, he prefered me to bring a four string bass.

Too funny, Bill. So...when do we get to hear some of the recordings? (Side story...had a gig in El Dorado Hills, CA, on Saturday. How does that possibly relate, you ask? Drove right by Folsom prison to get there. )

When we redo them, with the Roscoe.

lol

You crack me up Jerry! I wondered where you were going with that!

As silly as it sounds, JC's Live at Folsom Prison album is still on my top 10 list. Not because of the bass tone (or playing). Just because JC is so cool in that gig!

..........My mama always told me, never play with guns,
but I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die!

I own other basses, but the Roscoe is easiest for me to carry (The Gig Bag is The Bomb) so it follows me like a puppy.

Sling it cross my back an' I could walk to Texas. (Take me 10 years though)

God Bless, Ray
