I shared that pic of my fretless a few posts back. I ended up taking that thing on a number of gigs that "called" for a fretted bass, simply because it sounded so darn good.
Basses like this one don't come around all that often. It's a great spec, which can obviously be repeated, but when you find one that sounds this good....if you're remotely in the market, you leap. |

I do, however, have a very similar USED Roscoe bass in stock that I can discount to sweeten a deal involving it and E028. Check your PM's, Steve! |

It would be good for the economy and fellow bassists! |

The pickup placement means it's not a "laid back" fretless. It seemed quite bright to my ears and will definitely stand out in the mix. But it still has a substantial bottom end. Really fun to play. Great neck and very comfortable.
I also played the SKB FL5 with Barts that Greg has and loved that too - more mellow and the ebony board is noticeably softer.
Both are gorgeous basses.
I was kindof hoping not to like either. Now I want things I cannot have.

Both are gorgeous basses. | See, this is my thinking as well. I haven't played the Century fretless. I played the SKB. As this would be used for many tings, but probably see a lot of time as my "upright" bass, I may want to have the more mellow tone and that "softer" ebony board. |
