Since I decided to go with a standard model for the fretless, I still had this top available and decided to get a fretted 4-string as well: Quote:
Century Standard Plus 4 P/J
Quilted maple top (1 piece, see below)
Alder body
Pau Ferro fingerboard
Black hardware

I guess that's one way of dealing with GAS. Always keep a new one in the build queue! |

Then I started getting ideas about a fretted P/J 4 string... and about a tobacco burst finish on the fretless... and then there were two! |

One of my favorite non-Roscoe basses was a Pedulla MVP with the P/J p/u combo. |

I know that the neck wasn't going anywhere with the 3 bolt system but it just looks right with 4 bolts. |

Just a tiny truss rod tweak for the climate difference and it was good to go. The Aguilar 4P/J-HC are amazing as expected considering how good the 4J-HC are in my fretless Century Std.
It's been at least 4 years since I've owned a fretted 4 string (and then for maybe 6 months) and probably 8 since I have played one for an extended period of time. I can already tell it's going to be very refreshing and fun! The 5s aren't going anywhere though.

This is one of those basses where everything just works... every Roscoe I've owned has been great, but this one has some special mojo for sure. I guess that's what you get sometimes with natural materials (wood)! |

Great looking bass! I love to hear a Roscoe with the P/J P/U configuration someday. I sure loved it back in the day when I used Pedulla basses. |
