Question A few questions about Roscoe Basses

I'm thinking about ordering a Century Standard and would like to find out a couple things first.

Is the C.S. pretty much the same bass as the Century Signature, other than the wood tops and finishes?

What brand of strings does the factory use?

What is the warranty on this bass?

Thanks!!!

Hey, thanks for your interest in our Century Standard!

The body shape is the same, it just doesn't have the hand-carved top, and it isn't available with the exotic tops. The neck is a 3-piece maple neck, instead of the fancier 5-piece wedge neck. The pickups are a different version of a Bart soapbar, the hardware is only available in satin chrome.

We string all of our basses with D'Addario XL Nicklewound strings.

The warranty on all of our basses is 2 years from date of purchase, non-transferable (but we do make allowances for some issues, so always call to see if something is covered).

The stock pickup in the LG/SKB/Century Signature line is a custom wound quad coil pickup that is slightly compressed.

The pickups we're using for the Century Standards is essentially an off-the-shelf Bartolini Classic Bass pickup.

Both are excellent, and we actually offer the Classic Bass pickups as a no-charge option for the LG/SKB/Century Signature series basses, but not the other way around.

Any time man. Where in FL are you? I'm going to be in Orlando next week, and I'll have my basses with me, if you want to check them out. I MAY try to "borrow" a Century Standard for the trip, so the BC guys can see one, but I don't know if there will be anything available.

Thanks, I wish I could get down there, but I live a couple hours north of Orlando and don't have the time.

I got another question for you if you don't mind. More than a year ago I drove all the way out to the Perfect Bass in LA and was trying out all of their basses and I remember trying out some special edition Roscoe 5 strings that they had just gotten in. I really liked them a lot, but only wanted a 4 string (which they didn't have), so I ended up buying a EBMM Sterling. Anyway, what can you tell me about those special edition basses and are they similar at all to the Century Standard?

Thanks!!!

THANKS JOE! Those are the exact basses I played!!! Man it's actually been like 2 years. Anyways, I still remember playing those basses like it was yesterday and THAT is the bass I want, but they don't make em anymore.

Hey Gard any chance you will be making another run of these basses for TPB (I need a 4 string w/Rosewood board though).

Or, is a Century Standard as close as I'm gonna get???

Thanks.

I can't speak for TPB (or any other dealer) on whether or not another run like that will be done. We don't decide that, it's an offer that is out there for the dealers to place a special run like that, so we don't drive that truck.

However, there is an alternative: Just place an order for a solid swamp ash LG 3000 from any dealer, get the satin finish, and order it with a rosewood fingerboard...same thing, right?

Wow, I didn't know it would be that easy to get that same bass.

Thanks again Gard!

Keep in mind it won't be EXACTLY the same thing, but it will be close enough!
