I'vew got a hohner professional that i've put uprated pickups which is fine but i've recently started playing in a church band and have ended up playing alot of e flats which is sarting to annoy me.
i want to get a 5 as the low b will be very useful and was originally considering a G&L L2500 tribute but i keep looking on Marks' Bassdirect website and the roscoes look enticing. Can't stretch to a signature but a standard could be within my grasp with a lot of pleading with my wife
This seems a really good bet for a quality instrument to last.
Any views/comments gratefully recieved
Thanks in advance

They are made in the USA and built by the same guys who build the Century Signature, SKB and LG basses. The basses are nice and light and balance well. With the Ash body, the notes just seem to pop off the fretboard. The necks are made from 3 pieces Maple so they are of stable and solid construction using the same standards of quality as on all Roscoe Basses. Keith did a lot of research before he decided to offer a mid-level bass and with a lot of companies going overseas because of cheap labor, Keith decided to make less money so he could ensure the quality of construction by building the Century Standard in-house.
The tuners and bridge are Hipshot, the Pickups are the Bartolini Classics (which I have in both my Roscoes) and the electronics are the same Bartolini 3 band that comes standard in all his basses. I will warn you, once you play a Roscoe you will never be satisfied with anything else.
Gard Lewis is the Production Manager at Roscoe and he is on TB (Gard) as well. You can email him through the website. www.Roscoeguitars.com with any questions or PM him here and he will answer them fast.
The Perfect Bass reviewed the Century Standard, but they did not put any sound clips up. You can listen to their review here: http://www.theperfectbass.com/live/f...0standard.html Quote:

On the one hand, it frees up time to focus on other tasks.
On the other hand. . . hey wait, just HOW MANY people on these boards want Gard's job anyway!?!
I guess just pray nobody else can do the job as well as you do or for lots less money.
Data strikes again!

Or better yet, it could be that Hot Pink and Black one from the 80s.

I just have to figure out how to grow and tease my hair to match the nylon. . .

I was speaking to the idea that Gard's job is most desireable. Nobody can take Gard's place. If they tried, CrashClint and I would surely head a task force to keep him in POWER!
Data on the lookout --->

Thanks in advance | Indeed - DEFINITELY make your first one one of these - wish I'd have done that (but NOOOO - idiot-boy here trades his original MusicMan StingRay for a 5 string top-of-the-line Ibanez in 2002...Don't be like idiot-boy....)
