first post and picture, #4759

Sorry the picture has flash-itis.

This is my bass, finished in Sept 2002 for my 40th birthday. Amber finish, burl maple top, spanish cedar back, pau ferro neck, ivory nut, 3-way Aguilar preamp.

The top is visually interesting - burl on the horns and at the heel, birds-eye on the upper bout and between the neck and pick-up, and flame down by the bridge.

Purchased through Bass Central, but it was never delivered to the store. I live in Raleigh, so I drove over to the factory and picked it up in person.

Pictures rarely do the burls justice.......

Sounds like a nice combination of options. I really like the Spanish cedar bodies with the Bart p/u's and Aggie pre. Very warm and phat tone.

Yes, I did buy the bass from you. I was able to make it by Bass Central a few years ago - you had already moved to GSO by then, but I got to chat with Grasshopper.

Cool! Thought I remembered you!

Strange concidence:

I worked with a Grasshopper for 5 years, then moved to Greensboro, and now work a block from the stadium that a minor league baseball team called the Grasshoppers plays in.



Definitely stop in, if it's during baseball season, plan on a game, first beer is my treat.
