Flats on a Roscoe.....

Seems to me, they'd be at odds with each other, but my current strings are dead, and taperwounds(last resort buying them, hate, hate, hate tapers), so I found an old set of Chromes, cut a little too short, but I managed to get them on, they're settling in pretty well, should stay in tune soon enough.

Soundwize, in the 10 minutes I've had it plugged in(leaving it settle now), I'm suprised how well the match up, big deep growl on the B & E, nice powerful mids, and the highs are smooth and clear, plenty enough brightness, before I even touch the pre.

Pretty damn happy, though, I probably will go back to rounds when I get a chance.

Scored a Roscoe loaded with TI flats.. My first ever flats experience(on any bass) and I was impressed. Similar tonal experience.

Very nice!

I love TI's too, a bit more highs, and high mids than the Chromes, they're incredible on a fretless.

Yeah, TI Flats are my favorite flat string. A bit pricey though!

Flats on a Roscoe = Blasphemy!

Honestly, though... I've kind of seen the light when it comes to flats... On a whim, I threw a set of Chromes on my SX PJ and think they're perfect for that...

Might end up putting some on my American Standard P5 as well... Blah... Yeah, flats are cool. I guess...
