Fretless Roscoe.

I'm gasing big time for a fretless LG-3005.

Maple Diamondwood fingerboard.

Ceder, or Swamp Ash body.

Not sure of top yet.

Someone try to talk me out of it. ( it maybe to late)

Gard, please no pics? I'm weak.

Mojo, you are toast now, Gard will have some picks up in no time. May as well face it, you will be hooked!

Mojo-

Congratulations!

I have an SKB 3005 Lined Diamondwood Fretless that sings like a bird and growls like a wolf. It is my favorite instrument.

It has a Burl Myrtle top with a Spanish Cedar body and the 3-way Bart/Bart. The only change I may do is to put some Big Splits from Nordstrand on her to open up the tone a bit more as the soapbars compress things somewhat.

Everyone has their opinion and mine would be to go with either the Spanish Cedar or Alder body. For myself, I wouldn't want a fretless with that Swamp Ash tone. Also having the fingerboard lined is a real convenience. When it comes to the top, who cares? Gard will be able to pick something nice or have one of the fellas choose a cool slab you will dig.

Lord bless,

Doug

Big fan of a fretless Roscoe with these exact specs:

Bubinga top
Ash body
Birdseye Diamondwood (lined) board
Bart p-ups
Audere pre

This pretty much nails most fretless tones that I hear in my head plus many, many more!

Halftooth,

This descritpion is exactly the SKB3005 I've got home with just the detail that I haven't got line.

And yes it is amazing

Not the specs you wanted, but this might fuel your GAS a little: Myrtle top and body, lined diamondwood fretless.

That is a nice looking bass, but there is a serious problem with it......it is backwards.

Doc Dave does everything backward....which is why I'm afraid to go to him for dental work!

I'll PM Mojo with some ideas, there are a few out there that are pretty sweet, and a couple coming up that are nice as well....

Soon, Keith just moved the body into the "clear" group, which means it's got one more coat of polyester to go.

...it's that whole "ninja" thing that makes me nervous...that and the fact that the last time a member of your profession got close to my face, I lost all 4 of my wisdom teeth, plus got my two front teeth caps replaced (including my "stubs" being re-ground to fit the new caps)...

Hey, remember the movie Marathon Man with Dustin Hoffman. Where they were torturing him by drilling his teeth with no pain killer and throwing cold water on them.
