Fretwire sizes

I'm currently without a fretted Roscoe, so I have to go by my memory of how big the frets were in my past Roscoes, but I seem to remember them as a medium size (to make comparisons to other common basses, they were smaller than G&L/Musicman and bigger than Lakland - close to Sadowsky I guess).

Anyway, I'm curious if smaller fretwire is an option and if there is any charge for this sort of thing? (that one's for you Gard )

I really like the small frets that some builders are using - particularly I'm concerned with width more than height (though both can be too big on some basses IMO). I find that narrower frets allow for better intonation. How about the rest of you Roscoeheads - any comments on fret size (Roscoe or not)?

Roscoe uses Dunlop 6150 fretwires AFAIK.

Thanks

Any options other than the standard 6150?

edit: to avoid further wise cracks, the above is directed at Gard to see if any other sizes can be ordered on a Roscoe. Continue discussing otherwise

I just KNEW you'd go there...you're on a roll right now.

...props on the "Roscoe and Juliet" comment elsewhere, very punny.

Jeff, no, we use just the Dunlop 5160.

You got so caught up in the puns that you've even mixed it up!

Thanks though, and I suppose this thread doesn't need to die completely if anyone wants to talk about fret sizes (or continue making puns).

Jeff, I think this is a great thread. I find small size frets "the nicest" to my needs. The Roscoe frets don't bother me at all (even when Jim Dunlop says their "medium size" on the website). Nonetheless, I'va always been intrigued by using mandolin or banjo frets in a 6 stringer.
