I need a new gig bag. I have been using a Contego ProTec which is pretty nice. I like the 2 storage pockets in the front - one for cables and one for my iPad. I'd prefer one handle instead of the two handles that you velcro together.
I have a couple Roscoe bags from my recent purchases which are nice, but only one pocket and they are plenty roomy. Maybe something a little more compact - especially if I decide to go double as I can never decide which bass I want to bring as I love playing both of them.
Just curious what you all use.

Almost somewhere between a soft and hard case |

I can see myself bringing both basses to church fairly regularly - depending on the set for the day of course - but other gigs would maybe be more one or the other.
My Contego is getting pretty worn, but I do have two nice, unused Roscoe single bags so I guess I have time to look, research and think.
Any other options than Roscoe or Mono?

My M80 makes it so I can walk through doorways without smacking the headstock. The RB Continental (which has been my flyaway/quick/easy single) has the straps mounted lower on the bag so it sits higher - and I end up smacking everything. I was thinking of replacing with a Veritgo.

Would the igig 525 or Fusion case sit any lower?

But the Fusion F1 bag kind of looks better than mono or igig... Thoughts?

I never use shoulder straps and wish I could get a bag without them. This option of tucking them away is about as close as I've seen to no straps.
Does anyone know if a single bass sits ok in the double case for occasions where I only want to bring one bass?
Also, do I have to lay it down to get the basses out? I currently have a Contego case and while it's not like the Vertigo, I can access my bass with the case leaning up against the wall or something. I don't want to have to lay it down to get access. I'd rather get 2 Vertigo bags and a Tick instead.

Ditto to what this guy said.
Seriously. Get the M80 Double bag. You won't regret it.

It's 2 bags instead of one but really, all I have to bring to church is a bass (or two) and my little Nano board. Pretty easy to do.
Think I'll try these for a while before I go crazy on a $300 gig bag for church.

$300 seems reasonable in comparison to a $4000 bass. Maybe it's just me. |

This whole laying-down-the-bag-doing-stuff-sideways thing is a mystery to me. The only time my gig back is less than vertical is when it's in the car. That's applied to every gig bag I've ever owned. The Vertigo is slick from the perspective of top-loading, but beyond that I don't use it any differently than any other single or double bag I've got. |

I may still, but for now I think I'll try to use what I have. The "extra" could maybe go to an Apogee Jam and a couple apps for my iPad for practice, recording, etc.

Not so sure I'm as thrilled with my Mono M80 as others seem to be. Might try to trade it for an igig
