Yeah, thnx lightgroove, that bass is SO perfect, I have never changed the strings, or adjusted anything, setup.. Nothing! .. Since u sent it to me, the action, setup and tone have been perfect. Do u remember what strings were on there?

I may have asked u once before, I want to keep the vibe the same, if u happen to remember.
Another cut from last night:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzgR7KuZlVs

The wild thing about this show.. I never rehearsed w this band, I joined and learned ten songs in 2 weeks, and never got a chance to meet the band until soundcheck,
And "Wings" was a big MTV video back in the day, kinda his signature song,
which sorta features that bassline,
..so I was a little nervous about not rehearsing,
He's a really respected artist and an amazingly positive personality, I wanted to make him look good up there.
..we did get to run it once at soundcheck though.. and it was a fun gig,

If memory serves me they are standard gauge DR Hibeams... if not those I was using Fatbeams a lot..either way DR.

Called it blessed my brutha

I will say there is some magic in that bass...it really inspired me like no other.

With all the movement of basses on this site it is really refreshing to see someone playing and loving a bass....

Now...stay away from a Roscoe 5 string...I made the mistake last week and man o man my friend....

THANK YOU JERRY, means a lot to me,
actually, being "validated" by my peers,I always had a poor image of myself as a player..
..I never learned to slap,or play a decent walking jazz line,I use a pick for 75% of my playing..I never really felt like a "real" player,
recently I'm seeing some improvement & I feel like I can finally be proud enough of my playing to show these things
..probably that's why I post these things,I'm fishing for compliments

the end of the Barbarella vid u can really see my LED's on the LG,it looks cool.
I've played soo many basses, so many brands..and this is where I stopped searching.

very cool. Drums Along the Hudson is one of my favorite albums, and I used to cover "Telephoto Lens" back in the day. "Certain Harbours" is an amazing track...

yeah, Bongos..brings back memories, I was in high school when that video was popular, with the kids in it?..

Of all the players you'll ever meet in the music biz,
Richard is probably THE biggest sweetheart u will run into.

It was my 1st gig w him, and I had 2 weeks to learn 10-12 songs, & never got to rehearse with the band,
he knew I was sweating it a little..anxious to prove myself..

Before he approached the microphone,
he came up to me,& whispered, with absolute sincerity,
"Kevin..have a great show" and gave me a little hug.He just rocks.

that drummer does that "Charlie watts thing" with the hi hats.. he was interesting to play with..

you know, the strangest thing..
since i got my first Roscoe, my LG-3000,
I've been getting better sessions, two new artists gave me gigs..
playing with all better players, older, more experienced..

the week I got it,I recorded an album with drummer,Steve Holley, who was/is with Mcartney/Elton/Mott the Hoople,
and I've been meeting some good artists, players,
Fred Schneider from the B52s, Peter Buck from REM, and a all sorts of new people to play with..
getting invited to jams.. Just having good luck.
everything seemed to gel when i got that bass,my playing stabilized,or improved..something.

I'm afraid to change strings or use anything else! I've spent so many countless hours jamming that bass,I know every nuance of the board, every tone...
it sounds like an odd statement, but i feel like I finally have control over my tone.
Afraid to play anything else for gigs now,I don't want to break my winning streak!

Seems like you found your Roscoe Mojo, that is awesome! Just clean the strings in denatured alcohol and keep going.
