Anybody try these frisbee shaped stands?

Is this thing secure and sturdy?
Does it scratch or damage finish?

Good for bass ? ...Or stay away?

At first glance, that thing looks a little bit flimsy, but I've never seen one in the flesh. FWIW, I have a coupla' of these and I have no complaints...

Works well with all of my basses, and I love the portability.

Agreed, I have a bunch of those. Works well, doesn't damage finish.

These on the other hand, I would avoid. The rubber grip which acts as the height adjuster disintegrated on mine. Melted into this slimy sticky blob. Gave way while I was adjusting it for a mahogany body/wenge neck 6 string behemoth, which ended up slamming onto my toes.

I've seen the frisbee shaped ones in person, and I don't think I'd put one of my basses on one.

We sell these little stands, and they are remarkably compact when broken down. They don't work well with some of the more outlandish/asymmetric bass body styles out there, but it works just fine with any of the Roscoe bodys.

I always wanted to use such a stand back when I owned my Alembic Europa, but it wouldn't work (the bass always wanted to fall out of the stand sideways). So I've ended up using the taller Hercules stands. No complaints on those, personally.
