Hipshot tuners on your Roscoes....

Hi fellow Roscoeheads,

I was wondering if you have experienced the following: Do the paint n your tuners scratch very easily? I have noticed this especially on the posts where they get very easily scratched and the paint "peels off". I have noticed this on my Century Sig VI after just a couple of string changes. I am assuming this happens with strings w/o silk wrappings (the ones I like don't have them, Daddario's and DRs), but still I am not 100% sure about how "normal" is this. If so, has anyone done a "paint touch up" on your tuners? Thanks!

Diego

I haven't had the problem you describe at all. You may have gotten a set of tuners with some bad black plating.
I did have a HipShot bridge once that the problem you described occured to my saddles. I shot Dave at Hipshot an email and he sent me new saddles.

I'd send Dave at HipShot an email describing the problem and see what he has to say about it.

Diego, are your tuners the black/gold, and if so, is it the gold portion doing this? If so, it's happened a few times before, Hipshot should take care of you right away on it if you contact them about it.

Let me know if they don't and I'll see what I can do to help....

Gard, thanks for chiming in...my tuners are not black/gold, but std. black. I also PM'd you regarding the subject. Thanks again!

Update...The folks at Hipshot are sending me replacement tuner posts. As indicated to me, in the old production runs the posts were not anodized, now they are. Excellent customer service by Jason at Hipshot!
