Very "organic" looking. That bass is going to be hot once it's all said and done!

Very nice looking top. That one will certainly become a family heirloom! I can't wait to see the finished bass!

LOL. None of your kids are in their " Right" mind? Well, they could always do a reverse Jimmy Haslip.

Awww yeah, lookin' good! That body makes me wanna cut down some trees in Central Park and look for figuring. Not sure if NYPD would understand, though.

You need to become a ninja tree assassin...maybe Pete (bipslapper) can give you some pointers!

David, yes, it is indeed in the home stretch, I'm expecting it to get assembled toward the middle of next week, actually! Tony has the neck in the batch he started final shaping yesterday.

Wow! I stayed up waayy too late last night playing this beauty. The J is a great addition to the Roscoe lineup, IMO. Very versatile, tone-wise, like my other Roscoes. I also am really digging the look of this bass. It looks even better with incandescent light than the pics above. Incandescent light seems to bring out the depth of the flame more than flourescent. The fact that it represents a happy time from my childhood just makes it that much better. A special thanks to Keith and the guys for bringing this idea to fruition. It's everything I hoped it would be, and then some.

Also, is it my imagination, or does pau ferro have a funny smell? If I sniff the body, it smells like the Roscoe shop-a woody smell I love. But the fingerboard has a strong odor that I don't smell anywhere else on the bass. Maybe I need to put the bass down for a while. I mean, who spends time smelling their bass?

Some final pics, plus Tony even gave me the cutouts left over from the body shaping. I made one of them into a bandsaw box.
