Man I used to think they were different, I still do ( , at least the model I played) but I know realized that different is cool in this case... and sounds like a crazy awesome mofo! I think it was a LG3004 but I don't know the models that well. I wasn't crazy about the finish on this one but I love the time and craftmanship and time that went into this baby. It was tobacco burst over quilted maple with a birdseye/birdseye maple neck. Even my dad pointed out how much better it sounded and sat (he likes to fiddle with basses before I put em back on the stand. So anyways I thought this was a historic moment so we took some pics (Below). Roscoe, you have earned yourself a buyer! Thats hard with me bacause Imma a die hard fender lover and this bass just won me over, I can't wait to try a roscoe bird!

Well there's a first time for everything ......
I guess that beauty is truely in the eye of the beholder.
Glad that you dig the playability and sound though. IMO, Roscoe's are the best that money can buy. |

Glad you dig the IMPORTANT stuff about the bass, maybe one of our other body styles or finishes would be more to your taste?

Well I like te feel of the body and the sound the tobacco burst on that bass didn't do it for me. I like Darkstrike's purple LG but I only like maple and four bangers. And I don't care if it's different cause I play a MM sterling for punk rock. You wouldn't think a roscoe would do punk but it can do everything. A basslines pup would go better in the bridge rather than a bart, to get meatier lows IMO
A 4banger LG or RocsoeBird will be in my future

Seriously, I also have a MM Sterling and while it's a great bass, the Roscoes can get many tones, where my Steriling is very limited and heavier than my other 2 5 strings. Old men like me need to take it easy on or backs |

My sterling is very heavy, prolly bout 10.5lbs. I wan't comparing them tonally, just saying I don't care about using a roscoe for punk rock. If I was comparing them tonally then the roscoe wins by all means. Hands down.
Imma one who thinks a bass like this is the most beautiful so I bet you can understand how I see roscoe basses as different, ugly is a bit of a strong word

Seriosly though... start saving up Tommy. Once you've got the bug you gotta get the cure.
As far as punk goes that Bartolini pup/preamp in the bass you played can dial up a cool Pbass sound and will cut though like your MM. That's the combo my bass has. It took me a while to pull the trigger but now that I have one, I'll always have at least one.
As Gard said... you've locked on to the most important points, now you just need to find the one that suits your style!
Good Luck. |

Good Luck. | I money brewing, just not sure what I want. Imma savin up for one of these now. It was going to be one those adkinsin(<Spelling?) basses but I know realise that this is badass
I really want a Roscoebird but Imma afraid I won't like how it feels so I'll prolly go with the LG. Different body style but comfortable as hell! I'd kinda mimic darkstrike and get it with a flamed maple top and the transparent purple. I call it his "Purple flavored, tiger bass". Cept in four string and with maple and roman numral inlays! And it would be a four banger...
Very hot stuff. |
