Assuming it's the same mechanism as my LG, you just need a set of allen keys (from any hardware store). It's good to have them in several sizes, although all you need is the one that fits the truss rod, and one for the saddle height.

Trussrod: 9/64" allen key

Saddle height adjustment: 1/16" allen key

Let me know if there's anything else we can help out with!

You may need to grind down the length some. If you use an allen wrench that's too long it could scratch your lovey carved top!

The optimal length is 3/4" long on the end that enter the neck truss rod area (outside to edge).

Exactly the problem I had with my beloved #5850. I tried fitting the allen wrench Roscoe included with the bass but it was just a fuzz too long and yes, my beautiful bass is slightly gouged where the wrench contacted it.

This wouldn't have occured if I had been given a custom key or informed that I would need to grind the one that came with the bass.

Quite possibly these problems can be avoided by a little extra effort during the final setup.

Doug, on the basses that have a need for the shorter allen key, we custom grind one to fit, and include it with the bass. If your key didn't fit correctly, my apologies, as either we neglected to include the correct key.

Any time a tool does not fit correctly, please contact us immedately, as we can send you a correct one. If it don't fit, don't force it!

Why wait for a correct key when I can just mar my finish like CD.

On visits to the shop I have heard Gard and Keith communicate on many an occasion that the correct key was sent with the bass. Wait, wasn't Data at the shop the day your bass shipped?

Hey CD, go get a buffing wheel for your Dremel tool and a little wax it will fix the little mishap. I did the headstock of mine one time where I bumped it.

Thanks for the advice...I'll give it a shot if I ever get my new prescription on my glasses.
