I wasn't slamming it at all, I think its great. I bet its a killer playing and sounding guitar. I really enjoy seeing the evolution of a luthiers designs over time. This is a great example of that.
Gard has a slamming pic of Keith R back in the day with one of his serious shredder guitars. Its pretty classic. It makes me smile. |

Jake, yeah, I think the yellow/black/white sand-thru finish will look wonderful on your quilted bubinga top!
That headstock definitely pre-dates the Elrick NJS, but I don't think there was any conscious influence there, just "convergent evolution". Both are just re-makes of a Fender-ish headstock.
I've played several of the 80's "metal-head" Roscoes, including one of the Dr. Death (skull & crossbones body) guitars, they are indeed all excellent playing and sounding basses.

...my major in college was at first classical guitar performance, then switched to jazz guitar performance...
...I got better though!
...and Keith actually went to BERKLEE as a guitar major!
...worse, we have the bodies and necks for probably 75-100 guitars on a large shelf in the shop that no one ever seems to notice. One day, I'm gonna pull down one of the single cut bodies (think bolt-on LP), find a neck that matches and finish that puppy for myself!!!!
One of the guys that worked here years ago built a set-neck LG bodied guitar that is the most amazing looking, playing, sounding, and feeling guitars I've ever been in the presence of...that's a tempting thought as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest, I bet you guys could put out a SICK guitar. If you could bring the same vibe from basses over to a guitar, alot of people would dig it. Im not huge into guitars, so I dont know the different brands much, but if you could put out something like Bentevente, or PRS (only two I can think of off the top of my head), youd have a real winner I think.
As far as I know, either no ones heard of Roscoe, or if they have, only in the bass world. You should also try your hand at an acoustic guitar, that would be sweet. I know personally some people who would love a handmade, custom quality guitar for the 2000-3000 dollar range.

It belonged to Hank JR. and it played great.
It also had a light up fretboard that said in big RED(when lit) letters.
BOCEPHUS. It was a tele type body, red, but sounded great.
My first Roscoe experience. lol |

The fretboard is the same though. Where did you get that pic?
I can almost feel my hair growing shoulder length again.
