I want my Roscoe blues....

Well, after putting a down payment on my new Roscoe five weeks ago it is taking me a lot longer to gather my funds than I had intended. It may be almost another month still until I can pay it off and get playing. It is kind of funny, i've never put myself in a position with an instrument like this, but i'm holding onto my credit card until I actually have the money (though i've been tempted....), which will happen soon enough with some work and patience.

Well, the good side is i'm playing and recoding with my fretless exclusively, which is good for me. But, man oh man, do I ever want my new five string. Maybe it will be better for all the waiting!

Kudos to you on doing things the 'right' way. I have no doubt it'll be worth the wait. Good luck with everything, and I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on the new bass.

+1

Good to see a TB'er exercising good financial sense when GAS'ing for a bass. we all struggle with the "I've got to have it now" attitude!

It'll be worth the wait and regardless how it feels at the moment, the waiting is part of the fun. At least it makes the arrival of the bass that much sweeter!

What's the spec's of the Roscoe that you're purchasing?

I never buy gear on credit. If I don't have the cash, then I don't buy. Good for you on waiting.

it is a well-known fact that once you have a bass in the cue, *everything* would sound better on the one you've ordered.

+1 to everything the others have said. It's worth the wait and so much sweeter when you avoid the plastic.

Aha, confirmation! Honestly, i'm surprised nobody has said,Well, you will have the money in the month, just get it now....', which is probably a good thing and keeping me on the wiser path. I have gotten so much smarter with my financial stuff over the years, which definitely took a learning curve, but I haven't made any bad decisions in a long time. The other factor is I sold my other five string to help finance this one, but that money got eaten up in December (you know how that month goes...) which would have taken up the majority of my payment. Anyhow, i'm feeling patient at the moment, i've got a lot of things cooking in the musical kettle keeping me busy. I have a feeling when my Roscoe shows up it will be getting a lot of my time.

JOME77- I'm picking up a Century Std. 5'er with the Black Onyx finish I played while visiting a store in Albuquerque. It swept me off my feet... and although I am a wood lover and love the figured tops, i'm kind of excited to have something fairly unique, I haven't seen many finishes like it.

I hear ya man, this one is mine and the body really is cool:

Also I admire your financial responsibility. It's nice to have a new bass and money to buy strings, straps, etc....!

Great lookin' bass. If I were going to get a Century Standard, this would be the color/fingerboard combo I would lean towards getting.

Congrats!

Hey, that's my bass! =) It's kind of funny, this bass has been on my mind a lot lately (understandably, right?) and a few days ago I got an email from the music store. The guy who sold it too me was saying my three months to pay the bass off were up on February 10th, since I put my downpayment on Dec. 10th. Anyone see the problem here? I actually haven't got in touch of them so I hope they didn't put it back on the shelf, though even if they did i'm sure it will still be there today when I call; the funny part is it's only been two months!

Either way, i'm trying to be patient about the whole deal, it looks like things should turn around for me here soon, I think....
