I've been playing since 1977 with a gig once a week and a studio visit once in a while. I've been doing some research as far as the company web sight, reading post's from Roscoe owners and even checking out the Youtube stuff on Roscoe. I see Bass Empourium has a couple for sale, does anyone know of other dealers? I play all styles and like to play in my own style. I'm a finger player mostly. Since I can't try one around here, I want to make sure it's what I want. So far I'm likeing what I see. Any audio to listen too? |

Well I bel. the roscoe website has a list of various dealers. Before dropping $2000 + it would def. behoove you to try as many as possible. I bel. this is the beauty of roscoe instruments. You can start with various body woods, and then neck woods, and then electronics, and then pickups, and then pickup positions to give you 1000's of different options and tones. The tone I love may make you cover your ears, its really hard to say. Also keep in mind (which I learned later) that each body has its own horn length. I have the shorter horned lg which makes it feel like a reach . For me its fine but would much prefer a longer horn. There are a few consistent factors in your favor:
The quality is beyond superb.
The customer service is beyond superb.
The tone of 99.999% of all roscoe's is beyond superb.
If your looking for a very specific tone I'm sure the Gard master can dial you in pretty close. If its versatility you might try the newer preamp options that cost a bit more but give you ...well lets say enough options to play with.
You can also keep an eye out for used stuff. They pop up from time to time.
I'll close with (unless your under the spell of some other bass companies evil sorcerer) you will Not regret the purchase of any Roscoe..

Gard can recommend the closest place to check one out.
The tone of a Roscoe can greatly vary based on woods, p/u and pre selections....but they still retain that awesome Roscoe sound.
You may be a sold out 4 banger but you might want to consider making that transition to the 5 string with the Roscoe purchase. I see that you play in a worship band and from my experience that low B comes in mighty handy in those situations.
Plus, the low B on a Roscoe is truely amazing!

I have to laugh, I used to tell the 5 stringers " If you add another string, you'll have a guitar " until I heard some one hit the B bomb. I'm an older dog that likes the four I guess. I'm going to make some rounds and see if I can get to play one somewhere. A gentleman here was nice enough to send me a clip and it sounds fantastic. One last thing, It was one of the most, well words just don't describe it when I stopped playing for myself and started playing for Him. I have a feeling you might know what I mean.

Unfortunately, we don't have a dealer near you at this time.
If there is anything at all I can help you with, please feel free to PM or e-mail me at anytime.

Tim. | Oh yeah! I know what you mean! There's nothing like laying down the bottom for the Highest of Highs!
And yeah, I guess that I'm one of those that just added another string and now have a guitar!
LOL
Good lucking finding that Roscoe to check out! But trust me, it's what you want! |

Man this would be a perfect spot for that Low B.. I'm def. thinking 5er for my next Scoe albeit 2 years from now..

"I'm going to THUYA!"
...just for the record guys, the sale at The Perfect Bass doesn't apply to our products, as we have a strong MSP rule that they and all of our dealers follow.
That said, there are a few nice ones in there....

The price looks right too. http://www.bassandbeyond.com/html/ba...20Amber&view=1
btw Gard, it this amber or dark amber?

I looked on Blueberry Hill's sold section for idea's. Well it's Christmas and I have to get ready for the get togethers. I plan on serious pricing after the holidays. Any idea on wenge for a fingerboard?(always used Rosewood) I've put a Roscoe as my wallpaper, like the spalted too, this won't be easy.
