| Just bought my second Roscoe, #4600 I already own an LG3005 fretless, 4552, and liked it so much that I jumped on a fretted one that Bass Northwest had listed, number 4600. I purchased it used, but it's in great shape. It looks like it has a purpleheart fingerboard and the usual Bartolini pickups, but I'm unsure of the body composition and preamp. Bass NW said the preamp was an Aguilar OBP-3.
I know one for sure, it's a very warm-sounding bass. I actually have to roll off the bass EQ to get a sound I like. And it doesn't take much tweaking on either side of flat to get some good fingerstyle tones.
The best thing I like about the LG3005 basses is that they work well with my small hands. I have a hard time finding 5-string basses that fit my hands and so far only Roscoe and Mike Lulls seem to work. |
