King of the Roscoeheads

Sorry folks, but this is game over time.

Here is the craziest collection of Roscoes, including a pair that will never be repeated....39 strings all in a row:

9 + 8 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 = 39

yep you're right. Talk about not being able to make up your mind.

He still doesn't have one with the wood-chipper modification though. So I think I'm still king.

Would that pair be the 8 and 9?

Has Keith vowed to never make anything bigger than a 7 again?

Essentially, yes.

We presently have one set of 8 string Bart pickups and one 8 string bridge, so we COULD be coerced into ONE MORE 8, but that will be the last of those.

The 9 string is a one-of-a-kind, and will remain as such....

....how is it on the dark side, padwan?

Any reason Keith isn't willing to do them? Doesn't really want to play the ERB game, or just likes doing what he does, or what?

And it's just fine over here, Palpatine.

It's more of a prep & production issue for us, we just don't do enough of that type of instrument for us to tool up for it, and that makes it more difficult, therefore more expensive to do. The fact is that since I came to work here, we have had a sum total of NO requests for 9 strings or more, and ONE request for an 8 (which was apparantly not very serious). No incentive to get involved in that side of things under those circumstances.

Even 7's are pretty thin, we have one in the entire schedule right now (~300 instruments in the production schedule, ONE is a 7! ), and 7 in the 2.5 years of my tenure here. Compare that with the SKB 3006, which in the same time we have taken orders for 138. That's a 20 to 1 ratio.

...oh the crazy fun things I do here for work...

...Palpatine, hm? Beats being Jar Jar, right!

So I guess that means when I want my 9 built, I have to look elsewhere. That kinda sucks. I love my Roscoe :b awl:

I need to get that dude to take a new family photo...he recently added another "ain't gonna happen again" bass, raising his total number of strings to 42.

...y'all do the math and figger it out...

I was going to ask about a 3-String being added to this collection. I want to see pictures!

Looking here will probably make things just a little easier for you. Nine is at least four too many for me but you gotta love the work that's gone into this...

That's nice. I like that a lot. But it's not a Roscoe
