Las Vegas Trip

So my wife and I are leaving out Thursday morning for Las Vegas (celebrating her birthday and our anniversary).
Any of you guys frequent that area and if so, any off the wall places that have great live music (blues, rock or jazz)?

It's probably a good time for me to go as I won't be playing much for a week or two. I decided to save a few bucks and change out my trucks front brake pads. To make a long story short my high quality Chinese socket wrench exploded sending my left hand slamming into the front wheel assembly! My left ring finger is swollen black and blue (from the first joint up) with a huge blood bluster right where it contacts the string. Should be a fun gig this morning at church!

Oh well, let me know any recommendations concerning the Vegas trip.

Yikes Joe,

Here's to you having a fantastic time in Vegas (Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday to your wife) and hopefully you'll be well by the time of your GTG.

God Bless, Ray

I haven’t been to Vegas in a few years so the music scene may have changed. I attended several week long training seminars for my day job there in 05-06 and could not find any kind of a local music scene. I asked the locals and they referred me to whatever the Casinos had booked. I even drove around the city away from the strip and could not find anything on my own, other than a Sam Ash store. Good luck and let us know if you find anything different.

Speaking of the Georgia GTG Ray.....

What's it going to take to get you down here for the day? We've got to make that happen. Talk to me Bro!
If a ride is all that it'll take, I'm sure that we can work that out with one of the Atlanta TB'ers.

...let me know

Thumbs up

I'm in Vegas and guess who's at the Mirage?

BB King! I'm in the process of talking my wife into going to the show! So cool!

Joe, I got to meet BB (on his 70th Birthday) and I spent a good deal of time around him. We actually traveled from Memphis to Atlanta (He was performing @ Chastain). My Pop and I watched the show from the wings and got to hang with B. Backstage.

I'll Never forget it.

Saw him dozens of times before/since but that one was special.

Besides if you go we'll have lots to talk about at the GTG.

IMO You'll never see a harder working musician.

God Bless, Ray

+1 BB is the definitive and IMHO the most important Blues musician since Robert Johnson.

Joe,
Ya'll gotta go. At BB's age you may not get another chance.
And you never know who will show up and sit in with the band.
