| Lesson Learned! Had a gig on Saturday, playing at a "Heritage Festival". Well, we ended up playing in a parking lot, no canopy, no tent, just us and the pavement. Temperature outside was 28 degrees Celcius or roughly 90 Degrees F.
I keep my basses in my basement, which is obviously cooler than any other part of my house. I didn't think about it at all...
So we arrived early to get set up and a very brief sound check... my Roscoe was fine. I put it back in it's case, put the case in the shade and had to wait out a 2 hour delay. One hour into it, I went to my case to grab something, only to find my bass covered in water! Puddles on the neck and body! I gotta admitt, I was scared to death!
I quickly wiped up all the condensation from the bass, and left it in it's case , with the case open, for the next hour.
By the time we hit the stage, all was well, the bass was dry and the case as well!
So, lesson learned! A cold case can sure hold a lot of condensation especially if you put it into an obviously hot situation.
Thank goodness my bass was fine!
