There has been a lot of inflated claims made by SKB owners as of late, I'm just looking to set the record straight. There are a TON of positive things to say about LG's. Here is a place to post your PRAISE (if you have something negative to say, take it someplace else) and pics of your LG basses.
Here, I'd like to start with this one, #5863. Born in 2008.
LG 3005 - #5863
Exhibition Grade Flame Maple top
Swamp Ash Body
Cobalt Blue Finish
Custom 12th fret marker
Bartolini 3-band preamp
Bartolini/Roscoe pickups
Bubinga Fingerboard
Graphite nut
Black hardware
35" Scale
Weight: 8.6 Lbs
First, full monty from the front:
Now, show yours!

| | | Hello, dataBASS. Great idea.
Before I show mine here, a suggestion: We should also give the year our LG was made.
Thanks,
Snaxster

The sound of Roscoe fretless basses is where its at!
This picture doesn't showcase the beauty of the flame maple top very well. It is one of the better flame maple tops I have seen.

Well I've got to learn how to take some decent pic's! But until then, these will have to do ...
Spec's:
LG3005 w/straight p/u’s
Exhibition burl maple top
Spanish Cedar body (natural)
Exhibition Cocobolo finger board
Bart CB p/u’s
Audere pre
Diamondwood nut
Born Dec 22, 2008
I used to really prefer the SKB body style but then I discovered that what I really preferred is the straight pickups and the more petite body style of the LG.
IMO it has much nicer curves!

Joe - that top is absolutely ridiculous...and with the cocobolo fingerboard, just wow!
Adam (did I get that right?...if not, my apologies) - I'd never before seen bubinga on a fingerboard. It's downright gorgeous (nice inlay too!), and makes the cobalt blue look even more impressive.
I've always loved LG's, but Joe's comment hit home...I've never been able to get used to the angled pickups. I'd love to play one configured like Joe's sometime.
This thread is yet another great demonstration of the Roscoe aesthetic. The complementary tops & finishes and fingerboards makes for some instruments that are beyond beautiful. Easy on the eyes, very easy on the fingers, and very very easy on the ears! |

You've definitely got some very nice looking SKB's!
You need to add a nice LG to your stable!
.....Of course I'm sure that you already have trouble deciding which to play! |

I mean, come on, didn't you notice who started this thread? Posting your LG beauties here, you deserve to be Poached!
I guess Youngs will bat clean up on what Data doesn't poach. Ha Ha Ha
What can I say, Data is a good guy and can handle being picked on. I must say there are some mighty fine looking LGs on this thread, just beautiful. As for the cats, they taste just like chickin!
Well, gotta get back to work.

| I know that the SKB fans tend to hate on LGs, but the fact is, sales of LGs and SKBs are split about 50/50 (and have been for quite a while). The good thing is that there is a choice, and choice is rarely a bad thing. |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Austin, TX | | Well I had some time to kill at an outdoor gig on friday, so I took some pictures of my bass in broad daylight:
full monty:
closeup of my favorite bit of figuring on the top:
scary story about that gig... I had my bass in that stand, off the stage, just on the ground. I was helping the drummer load in his drums when the wind picked up. a couple of music stands blew over, and I saw my bass moving a bit in the stand. Needless to say, I ran over, put the drums down, and grabbed my bass before it could blow over. It stayed in the case or on my shoulder the rest of the day.
