| Quote from a very well known luthier (if I mentioned his name here you would obviously recognize him): "Moving the neck pickup away from the nut/fretborard would thin out the tone further and make the bass more middy. To fatten up the tone the pickup needs to move towards the nut." I'm not a luthier or electronics expert, but it might by partially where the LG's get their huge B!
