LG3005 Neck Swap?

Just curious, I own an LG3005 (incredible bass) that has the upgraded fretboard (I guess it's spalted purpleheart). Anyway, my questions is if I were to buy another used LG3005, would I be able to swap out the necks? Would it be as simple as unbolting and rebolting, and if so, is it even a good idea?

Not worried about the headstocks not matching?

You know, I didn't think of that. Uh yeah, I would like them to match.

I'm tempted by the one that's for sale in the for sale area, but I really dig the look of my neck. My bass is great, but the finish wouldn't be my first choice (wine red). It looks great, but I would like something a little more adventerous.

I'm not sure you can do that. From what I understand and these instruments being hand-made, the Roscoe crew matches each neck to a particular body (i.e. to a particular neck pocket) so you may end with aless than perfect fit or no fit at all if you swap the necks. Anyways, the best bet is to ask Gard about this. I'm sure he will give you an answer soon.

Might work, but the chances are pretty slim. As Diego points out, each neck is hand-matched to each body.

I would advise against attempting it.
