Used LG3006.
Same bass used by Jimmy Haslip who is a big influence.
$3,000 is still a lot, but this looks like a sweet bass for sure. Just thought I'd share. |

That's ALL.

You've been debating this too long.
Pull the trigger, give it 3 months and if you can't adjust to the 1.4mm, sell it.
And there are a lot of good deals to be had with little or no financial risks.
Good luck and do it already. Your missing all the fun of playing a Roscoe. |

Scale length, on it's own, is grossly overrated as a playability spec. It's worse than pixel count for cameras. The only exception as it applies to me, is an unlined fretless fingerboard. And even at that, we're not talking playability...but rather my inability to play the damn thing in-tune. Unless you're playing Chopin etudes in Fm for hours-on-end, the difference in length between a 34" and a 35" instrument should never be cause for discomfort. I can totally appreciate preference, which is an entirely different animal, but I've honestly never understood the, "I can't play that bass," argument. If you're functional on a 34" bass, you can be functional on a 35" one.
As Gard, alluded, for me it's all about overall comfort. Does the bass feel good in my hands? That almost always has nothing to do with scale length. And as important as comfort may be, it's still secondary to sound. If a bass sounds good, and encourages me to improve what I'm doing musically, I'll wear it just like women wear stupid shoes.
The beautiful thing about Roscoe instruments is that there is rarely, if ever, such compromise. Find the one that speaks to you sonically, and you'll marvel at the playability every time you strap it on for duty. |

Take the plunge....you'll wonder why you waited so long.
And with you North Dakotans one or two or three may not be enough. |

You've been on the fence so long that you're starting to look like a split rail!
What's the worst that could happen if you purchase it and don't get along with it?
..... well, you trade or sale it!
Hey, that's fun!
One things for sure, you won't adjust to a 35" scale by looking at 'em!

Get it!

Seriously, they are wonderful instruments and become a personal thing, at least with us 'heads they do. You won't be disappointed. |

Seriously, I'm close, although I'm not sure a 6 is the most logical purchase. I think a nice 24 fret 5 would get me where I need to be. |

My Roscoe was my first 5, and first 35" scale. Played easier than my trusted Fenders (which I don't own anymore BTW).
.I got to horse around on Joe'e SKB 6er, and Gard's Fretless Century 6. And having never played a 6, I'm convinced that's more than accomplishable by me. I'm the guy that was scared to death to try a 5. You'll hate to know me if I order a fretless 6.
If you've got a chance at a dream bass, DON'T PASS ON IT.
Fortunately for me Roscoe made mine. And someday it'll have a companion.
Get It!
God Bless, Ray

Too bad life isn't easier and money more easy to come by. I played a bunch of Roscoe's last summer and the B string was amazing, as was the rest of the bass.

My opinion is that the Standards play and sound as good as the Customs and Signatures - not the SAME, but equal in quality in every way.
My next bass will be a Standard.
