Me and my SKB!!

Well, in spite of the fact that, crowd-wise, we had an outstanding weekend, there wasn't much eye-candy! So, since I have discovered that I LOVE posting pics of my gear, I thought I'd share that instead...

I'll look thru the pics...there may be some hotties on here...

Well, your last pic does show three hotties. Great shots! What a wicked-cool SKB!

Nice Trio! I'd say that you've got most all sounds covered.
You are indeed blessed!

You know, they say great minds think alike, and I think we've proved it. You and I have the same Acme cabinets, the same Furman Power conditioner - and we're both Roscoe-philes.

I love the neutral uncolored sound of the Acmes, and having the B2 and B4 should let me handle pretty much anything. Their low end really does the Roscoes proud.

I can see you're using a Crown xti amp, but can't make out the model. Just curious - what kind of power, watts-wise, are you feeding your Acmes? I know they're power-hungry but I'm curious to see what real-world power consumption people are seeing, since I haven't really pushed mine at all yet in terms of volume.

Beautiful bass, and a nice rig, if I do say so myself.

Cheers!

Yeah, but I bet that Phil doesn't have a dog with antlers!

That's not a dog. That's Doris. She's a houndeer, which are also known as reindogs.

sweet roscoe, and sweet rig! I was going to ask how many watts as well.. Also curious how that Mike Pope preamp is working out for you..

BTW, whats the pre in the roscoe? Bart or Aguilar?

Hey guys! Thanks for the kind words! The Crown amp is the XTi-4000. I'm running in what would be described as Bridged Stereo, which would mean both sides are sending the same signal to each cab. The 410 is a 4ohm and the 210 is an 8ohm, which means the 410 is getting 1,200 watts and the 210 is getting 650w. I did this on Andy Lewis'(the guy who owns Acme)recommendation. He said that would put an equal load on each cab. I'm not an engineer, so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, but it does sound amazing! Very bright, very clean, very loud! I believe I know what my basses sound like! Not gonna kid you guys, I just got an Epifani UL 610 and I think I'm in love! As wonderful as the Acme's are, I'd really like to just have 1 cab and that Epi 610 has all the tone I ever dreamed about! I'll prolly stick with that for a while!

The Pope preamp is AWESOME! I got the 2 channel version because my Roscoe, which has an Aguilar preamp, is still very different sounding than my MTD with the all Bartolini setup. Both channels are independent and he set it up so both channels go to both outputs if I want that! It a very transparent pre with enough flexibility to handle 2 very different sounding basses. Another reason why I love bass gear built by bass players!

I'd also love to have a dog with antlers...or a houndeer! That would RULE!

Hey Phil, while you're cloning your reindog, I hope you won't mind me editing that pic a bit to show off all those 10's...what a cabinet!

wow, killer! I've jonesed for a UL610 for a long time, I bet it sounds killer with that setup!

I'd be interested to hear an A/B of the acme stack vs the UL610, given that it has the same # of 10's etc....

That is an upcoming test! Seat of the pants 1st impression...The Epifani cab definitely has more oomph! It has a well rounded bottom end that's not real boomy like some other big cabs. It's a very articulate cab. I was able to hear little things I could only hear with the Acmes! The highs were there without being harsh! I really liked that! This cab is LOUD AND CLEAR! It's ALMOST as neutral as the Acmes with slightly more guts! I'll do a shootout soon...

Jerry-Once again, you've hooked me up! Thank you!

I'll trade you a clone of Doris the houndeer for that Pope preamp.
