My Century 6 in the works!

I thought I'd post some pics of my bass thats in the process of becoming real. It looks like its a few weeks away still, but Gard sent me some shots of the body after it was carved, and I've got some shots from when I was at the Roscoe shop picking out woods a while back. Here is the info:

Century Signature 6
Figured bubinga/swamp ash
Wenge Wedge neck
fretless birdseye diamondwood fingerboard
birdseye diamondwood pickup covers and matching pickup ramp
Nordstrand DC's
Audere 4 band pre

and some photos....

I'm really excited about this bass, hopefully it will be the fretless I've been looking for. More photos to come...........

YUCK!! That is DISCUSTING!! You don't want to be seen with that one, Tell ya what, I am willing to take it off your hands, just to save you the humiliation of actually having to play it.

Really, That is amazing. It is sooooooo gonna rock

Yea, another Roscoe thread to pollute!!

Wolf, looks absolutely lovely! That bubinga is truly exhibition quality!

Now, it wasn't inspired by Gard's bass or anything, was it??

We're thinking of calling this set of specs the "Century Signature VI-GL"...

I'm thinking about having the picture of Gard with his Tandoori chicken covered fingers airbrushed on the back.. If we're going to airbrush, we might as well put some unicorns and rainbows on there as well....

How'd you know it was inspired by Gards?.......

I'll tell you, I've always been a fan of the bubinga/ash combo, especially for fretless. I'd venture to say that Gards bass was influenced to some degree by a sonus special, which has about the nastiest fretless midrangey bite around.

No matter what, I think its gonna kill. And with maple pickup covers and a matching ramp, will definitely be a distinctive looking roscoe.

I'm looking forward to seeing some pics with some finish on it (hint hint............ )

Awesome looking top!

Why does it look like your neck is being grilled though?

Heh, no. When I scrolled down and saw the pics of the neck, my first thought was, that looks like a gas grill its being laid on. But its the tailgate of a truck (I think).

Actually, I'[m starting to think it'll sound pretty different from Gards. IIRC, his ash body is substantially denser, and the wenge on my neck is very different from any wenge I've ever seen. not quite as massive and dense, a little more open and porous, and lighter in color as well. I mean its gotta sound similar, but maybe not as similar as you might think. Time will tell.

The pickup covers will set the top off just right. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
