(Paul & Wings,Elton John, Joe Cocker,Stevie Wonder, Ian Hunter, Mott the Hoople, it goes on.)
What an absolute joy to play with a "real" drummer now n then,
it really reminds u why u love bass playing.. The LG sounded raunchy, rumbling the rafters, real low-middy and punchy.. I love it!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYAoPkMT5k4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_echeXiry5M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vJ1PNs6v14 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jQ0xdjmF8s

Thnx!It was fun, I get very loungy, folky w Deni a lot, last night was very different, we played more as a rock band, and Steve is one of my favorite Drummers to work with, a sweetheart, and a funny guy
I'd set it pretty rumbly and overdriven, I like when the band Rawks a bit,I sometimes push 'em in that direction,
I like to try and keep Deni motivated too.
She's a great artist, always pushing me to play outside of the "safe" zone, and to play stuff I normally don't play, which has expanded my playing a lot in a short time. I learned a lot from her.
I love the aggressive, grindy tone this bass gets with a pick, maybe the Aggie pre, or the hard cocobolo board..
But I can really slap the strings aggressively against the high end of the fingerboard on it and get some great staccato rock tones,
I consider her almost like my P bass, I use it for sustainy, full, leggato stuff, and I kinda feel like I'm in Iron Maiden when I'm onstage with it, kinda makes me want to play that way..
Few more cuts w Steve on drums, from last night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weF3o...e_gdata_player http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vU6C...e_gdata_player http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNyy4...e_gdata_player

Great songs, cool voicings (love the accordion action), and I really....really dig what she does with the low range of the violin. Terrific stuff all around, especially from the rhythm dogs. |

U always have really thoughtful, cool comments when I upload clips to TB, I sincerely appreciate the kind words..
Deni Bonet is a fun artist to play for,
she's A riot onstage,
her onstage rants are something like a cross between Lou Reed & Sarah Silverman, her lyrics are clever and funny.. and she knows a lot of great session players,
she was Cyndy Lauper's violinist for years, toured w her, a lot of top artists hire her for sessions,
I did the bass for her new CD,"It's All Good", played the Roscoe for it all, except for some Kala U-bass on two cuts..
through a miked vintage B-18, with a direct line as well,
It's got a lot of guest artists, REM, Fred Schnieder.. It should do very well for her, it's very uplifting, witty, poppy..

Sincerely, I love your approach as much as I totally dig your playing. Interplay, drive, listening, and an open mind. It's with good reason that you're playing and recording with these folks. Congrats to you, and thanks for the inspiration of your music and the background info on how it comes to life. |

I play alot of busy 8th notes through the whole song, they did a really classy job with the bass, Richard Barone from The Bongos produced it,
