I just had this delivered Tuesday, and I have to say, "Oh My!" I was a bit hesitant about getting a 6-string, but this one fits nicely. Pics are from the ad. I'll take a couple more later this afternoon.

I took it to a rehearsal last night and found that I'm changing my playing style--the action on this baby is really low so I'm have to play with a REALLY light touch. As an upright player, this is killing me. But my band mates appreciate it--they said that they could hear me better, that I sat in the mix better, that I actually sounded better. WooHoo! Thank you Keith!

Based on the time frame of the SN:
*Burl Maple top
*sapwood Purple heart FB
*Spanish cedar or Mahogany body (based on no pic of the rear I suppose it could be solid burl maple though)
*Bart pre
*Bart p/u's
*ivory nut
Regarless that's a very nice Roscoe! |

And I think JOME77 may be right--it does have what appears to be an ivory nut; I think it's a burl maple top (but I could be wrong); Bart pickups and pre (what's the trim pot for, btw?); and here's a shot of the back:

Any help?

The trim pot is too adjust the output of the Bart Pre. I typically run mine around 1/2. The Bart on-board pre can overload the input of quite a few amps/preamps if you run it full up. |

Those are Hipshot tuners. Was Keith using them way back when or was that bass retrofitted? |

Top: Burl Maple
Back: Swamp Ash
Fingerboard: Maple (not "grainy" enough to be purpleheart, sorry)
Preamp is definitely the Bart 3-band, Joe covered the gain control perfectly.
The Hipshot UL's were an option all along, we just decided to make them "standard" a couple years ago. They are precisely the same to install as the original Gotoh tuners, the holes all line up and everything, so it's a simple thing to do if it were an aftermarket swap.

I only ask because based on the pictures, the board looks just like a tulipwood board that I had on a bass years ago. It has the same coloration and similar pattern as I remember....of course, the coloring could be off as far as the picture and my computer are concerned. |

Yup!
Here's a sterling example (I'm biased, it's my bass... ):
