| My Roscoe Hates Energizer Batteries! So here's something interesting..
I decided to change the batteries out of my LG the other day (two 9V's). I normally use Duracells, but the store I went to was out. I bought a set of Energizer "Max" and took them home.
First thing I noticed was how snug the existing batteries (Duracell ProCell) were inside the cavity. I actually had to use a small flathead screwdriver to grab the edge of one of the batteries to pop it out. Anyway, I didn't really notice how much easier the new batteries dropped in.. I just snapped on the connectors and closed it up. As soon as I tilted the bass back to playing angle, I heard those batteries clunking around in there. "How could this be?" I thought.. "Aren't all 9V batteries essentially the same size?"
What some may consider a minor annoyance became a real issue to me (I've probably got a minor OCD thing going on). I was either too busy or too lazy to get to it right away, so I played a few gigs with it like that - grinding my teeth every time I felt those things moving around in there.. And finally, yesterday I had a day off.. Sooo, I went out and bought a set of regular Duracell copper tops, and.. Problem Solved! Snug as the originals. I guess not all batteries are equal, no?
I can't believe I wrote that much about batteries.. Anyone else come across this?
PS: Duracells ALWAYS sound better!
